Brocade 18th or 19th century ecclesiastical chasuble vestment. The European ecclesiastic religious chasuble was most likely worn by a French or Italian priest of the Roman Catholic church. The floral brocaded silk fabric is entirely hand-made and finished with a gold metallic passementerie trim edging. The early linen lining appears is hand woven. There is some light staining typical and to be expected with an early textile of this age. Measures 40 inches in length and 29 inches in width. From the estate of a New York collector.
