拍品描述: Yellow bronze with silver inlay. China, approx. 18th century Bronzes by Shisou (石叟) became known in China in the late Ming dynasty. Typical for works from his studio are the fine gutters inlaid with silver, which were used to create the decoration. This is also the case for the vase at hand, with a flared stepped foot, oval body and wide flared mouth opening. The handles are formed as elephant heads. The silver décor on both sides offers flowers (presumably peonies) with vines and wide-stretched wavy meander on the lip. Strong patina on some parts. HEIGHT 15,6 CM From an old Austrian private collection, afterwards collection Sohel Ch., New Delhi – Vienna A noteworthy share of the antiques offered here – around 130 lots – originate from the Collection Sohel Ch., a successful business man from Delhi who spent many years in Vienna. The part of his collection, which we here offer, was mainly acquired in the art trade of Vienna. The chief reason for his collecting activity, which he perpetuated with considerable specialized knowledge, sense for quality and great committment, was to establish a private Asian museum in his native city of New Delhi.
