Champa, 14th-16th century or earlier. Each hairpin of conical shape with finely carved and neatly incised decorations towards the top and each with a skillfully carved finial, three depicting dogs and one depicting a monkey.
Condition: Good condition with traces of age and wear, few natural age cracks, and some miniscule losses. Fine patina. Provenance: Ex-Collection of The Zelnik István Southeast Asian Gold Museum. Institutional art collection in Belgium, acquired from the above.
