拍品描述: 18TH-19TH CENTURY"The two finger citrons are carved and pierced in the round with tendris, leaves and a lingzhi sprig. The stone is of a rich, amber tone with paler inclusions.7 in. (18 cm.) high; Please note this lot is the property of a private individual."The finger citron is otherwise known as 'Buddha's Hand' and represents dhyana mudra, the position of Buddha's hand in meditation. In a non-Buddhist context, the Chinese word for finger citron also provides a homophone for happiness and longevity. One can therefore contemplate a long and happy life while appreciating the current carving.
