Hanging Scroll Depicting Poet Li Bai, China, 19th/20th century, drunken and sleeping under trees with two boy attendants helping him greet a standing official in waiting, with an inscription signed with two seals, ink and color on silk, painting 26 3/4 x 14 in. Provenance: Descended in the family of Dr. Marshall Hertig, an internationally noted medical entomologist who conducted research on disease bearing insects at the Peking Union Medical College, from 1923-1928, his wife Edwina Smiley Hertig, and their son Bruce Allerton Hertig to the present owner.
