INRO WITH LANDSCAPE, TURTLE AS NETSUKE
Lacquer technique with gold, agate and wood. Japan, 19th to early 20th cent.
A two-leveled inro with especially intricate painting in gold. It features in very fine technique a landscape with water, rocks, trees, here in addition with bridge, cabin and fishing boat. Several details are incredibly precisely executed. Takamaki-e with gold as well as fundame; inside dark grey with gold nashiji.
The spherical ojime is orange colored, striped and presumably agate; the netsuke offers a turtle kame and is signed with KO-GYOKU 光 玉.
