Lacquer technique, wood. Japan, 19th cent.
A little inro with two levels, completely coated with black, shiny roironuri. Lightly raised in red-brown lacquer, an impressive rocky landscape is depicted with pines and mountains, with cabins and a lookout post on one side.
The cord fastener ojime is poss. red coral; the Manju netsuke round with cicular lines and dark grain of the kiri wood (paulownia).
