拍品描述: Bronze. Thailand, Late Ayutthya, approx. 18th cent. This smooth bronze presents Buddha sitting in half-crossed paryankasana on a base fitted to his contour. One hand resting on the lap, the other showing the ?earth witness“ bhumisisparsha mudra, proclaiming the victory over the tempter Mara by calling the earth goddess Bhumidevi to witness. Tall upright upper body, downcast eyes, head form and facial features with Sukhothai characteristics. Almost black patina, or patination. HEIGHT 16,2 CM From a German private collection
