拍品描述: Wood and metal. Japan, early 19th cent. Attractive looking chest with many ornamental hinges, which bestow it with a very lively, particularly interesting appearance at the front, as they are not distributed in a stark, but in an uneven composition. The uppermost drawer is spans throughout, beneath it a deep compartment, and next to this, two short drawers. In the lower section again a drawer, as well as a secret compartment behind two small deep drawers. The metal hinges, partly applied dense, have various appearances; some are rhombic, band-, leaf- or also cross-shaped. Several curved handles are applied. On the sides they are large cornered handles. Beautiful grain of the light pine-wood.
