Cai Shen is one of the gods adored in house altars, or a lucky charm, responsible for prosperity (= Cai ?? ). The character cai is engraved frontally below his hands. The long-bearded deity holds a bowl in front of him containing another object, usually gold or a pure gold longevity-peach.
