拍品描述: Ink and color on silk. Japan, late Edo period A mountain creek streaming in the foreground and a small village hidden behind trees where a person is partially visible in the back. The sunlight breaks diagonally through the fine fog; these brushstrokes have been sovereignly applied, creating strong washes. Likewise the strong vertical composition of the mountain, the ones further in the background appear only as a faint mist… The artist was regarded a master of “misty atmosphere” and was a scholar of Goshun, whose works are included in this collection. On the bottom right is the signature GAKU TOYOHIKO 岳豊彦 and red seal TOYOHIKO SHIGEN 豊彦子彦. Brocade mounting, bone ivory roller, overall good condition.
