拍品描述: India ink and color on paper. Japan, late Edo Period, about 1900 Very vertical composition with rocky islands and steep jutting mountain with fog banks. In foreground, various trees, partially in fall colors. Romantically situated estate with a man on the veranda. He looks to a canoe with two people getting ready to embark. The artist comes form a doctor′s family from Chikuden. Like his father, he also worked for the feudal clan, then became later a writer, art collector, scholar and calligrapher. The long inscription at top left shows his eruditeness, the signature at end is CHIKUDEN sei sha hei dai 竹田生寫併題, the red seals KEN IN 憲印 and CHIKUDEN 竹田. Brocade mounting, wooden rollers.
