拍品描述: Ortelius Abraham Theatrum orbis terrarium, Antwerp M.D.L.XIX (1569-1570) Text in latin except for the last page which is written in the Dutch language. First copy of the Theatrum Orbis Terrarum and universally regonized as the first "modern" atlas. The maps by the most renowned cartographers of that time. The coloured maps finely coloured by a contemporary hand. The atlas includes Ortelius famous maps of Asia, Africa, Europe and Holland. Condition: One volume, 45 hand-colored double page maps, and 3 black in white maps (America, Africa and Salisburg) bound together in contemporary bindings and cover. All maps mounted on equal sized pages some minor browning and staining, many pages repaired. Origin: Antwerp Period: 16th Century Sizes: 45.00 cm. H x 33.00 cm. W x 5.00 cm. D 17.72 in. H x 12.99 in.
