拍品描述: Chinese, English or French silk 18th or 19th century pictorial needlework panel tapestry. Possibly early Chinese needlework made for the European trade. The early hand embroidered pictorial textile depicts a scenic European landscape with women, children and leaping dogs amongst a grapevine foliage vineyard setting. The early cream ground silk fabric with colorful hand embroidery, is finished with with braided gilt trim on velvet accented with a metal fringe border. Tapestry has a 2 inch vertical slit and a finger-tip sized hole. The tapestry also has a few smaller size slits, the largest being in the top center. The panel has an early linen backing with a finely stitched hand sewn sleeve at the top for hanging purposes. The tapestry measures 31 inches high x 45 inches wide.
