Early 1900's Vienna Secessionist oil painting. Portrait of a beautiful and mysterious young woman wearing an elaborate headdress. The European painting could be the work of an Austrian artist from the Vienna Secession movement headed by Gustav Klimt that thrived from 1897 until 1905 or perhaps an artist of the Wiener Werkstatte. It also has a dreamy quality present in the paintings of Alphonse Mucha. Oil on canvas. Old reline with paper glued around the stretcher, UV light revealed some light inpainting at the bottom and a H shaped scratch in the upper right corner. No restoration on the face. Could not find a signature which could have possibly been cut off when the painting was relined. Measures 14.6 inches high x 10.7 inches wide. Antique gilt Art Nouveau frame measures 17.7 inches high x 14 inches wide.
