French 19th century gilt cherub pedestal. The unusual pedestal has a shaped top with embossed designs and the center is a full bodied figured of a cherub holding a pillow on top of his head. The base is cast with a shield design with rose tendrils and the base has shell forms and ram's head feet. This pedestal was used to support the Sevres urn (lot number 220) for over 30 years in the consignors office. Good condition with wear from normal use. Measures 36 inches high x 12.9 inches diameter.
