拍品描述: Fine 17th or early 18th century Continental oil on canvas portrait of a knight. The stately gentleman, dressed in a suit of armor with a crisp white and intricately worked early French needlepoint lace collar, is clearly the work of a highly accomplished artist. The European portrait of a noblemen is unsigned. Good condition with old wax reline. The crossbar on the handmade stretcher has identifying stamps indicating that at one time the painting was in Vienna (Wien), Austria, or possibly shipped from there. The finely rendered antique oil painting could be of Flemish, Dutch, German, Italian, Spanish or British origin. Painting measures 21.3 inches high x 19 inches wide. Frame measures 26.2 inches high x 24 inches wide.
