QING GILT OVERGLAZE SGRAFFIATO BOWL ON STAND

拍品描述
The Chinese porcelain potted into a deep vessel, with round cavetto elevating steep sides toward flat opening, raised upon a slightly concaved foot base. Four famille rose hand painting of panoramic medallions decorated the exterior, interspersed by characterized gilt overglazed lattice motif sgraffiato between band repeating ruyi pattern under the rim and over foot base. The interior with pale-green-turquoise underglaze ground. The composition is sophisticated and the decoration colors are simply a feast for the eye. Displayed elegantly upon a carved hardwood stand.


Mark on base, incised a six seal script -ZhuanShu- characters reign mark, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing.

PROVENANCE:

Property of Robert J Braidwood by descent; Acquired in 1961, from Wolf's Antique furniture & China, Coldwater, Michigan.
