A Batavian (Dutch East Indies) silver salver, unmarked, probably 18th century, circular with wavy rim and chased inside border with two leafy bands on textured ground, centre chased with a wreath around the monogram "VOC" of the Dutch United East India Company (Vereenigde Oost-Indische Compagnie) (1602-1799), 29.9 cm. diameter, wt. 545 gm. For an identical example see plate 50, "Zilver uit de tijd van de Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie", Zwolle, 1998, where it is thought to be made by a Balinese native silversmith, date uncertain.
