A George III silver tea caddy by Solomon Hougham, London, 1793, rectangular with rounded ends and domed cover, ivory pineapple finial, the sides with four double fluted vertical bands, engraved to front with crested cartouche encircled by foliage and surmounted by a ribbon, 17 cm. high, wt. 419 gm.
Silver solder down seam on lerft side which shows a repair just above base, crack to ivory finial, maker's mark seems to have been deliberately defaced to base but is clear in cover
