German Silver Coffee Pot with Rocaille Ornaments — Cologne, c. 1770 Pear-shaped body over a round base, console casting with a small hinged lid, hooded lid with two sculptural blossoms as knobs, curved, blackened wooden handle; the walls decorated with large blossoms and grotesque work. Silver, gilded inside. On the bottom inspection mark and indistinct maker's mark ''WS'' (?), possibly for Wilhelmus Sittmann (1753-78).
