拍品描述: Small bottle in the style of Osvaldo Brussa — Venice, 18th c. The body of the bottle is bulbous and flattened on both sides, the mouth has a screw cap, the wall finely painted with a goldfinch sitting on a flowering branch, the back is decorated with a bouquet of roses, daffodils and carnations, the sides are decorated with flowering garlands. Colorless glass, polychrome enamel painting. H. 8 cm. - Because of its fondness for thistles, the goldfinch is considered in Christian iconography as a symbol of Christ's Passion and can be found on numerous portraits of the Virgin Mary. In the stained glass from the workshop of Osvaldo Brussa, it appears as a frequent motif. // Kleiner Flakon in der Art des Osvaldo Brussa — Venedig, 18. Jh. — über abgesetztem Stand bauchiger, beidseitig abgeflachter Korpus, die Mündung mit Schraubdeckel, die Wandung fein bemalt mit einem auf Blütenzweig sitzenden Stieglitz, rückseitig Bouquet aus Rosen, Narzissen und Nelken, seitlich Blütengirlanden. Farbloses Glas, polychrome Emailmalerei. H. 8 cm. - Wegen seiner Vorliebe für Disteln gilt der Stieglitz (auch Distelfink) in der christlichen Ikonographie als Symbol für den Leidensweg Christi und ist z.B. auf zahlreichen Marienbildnissen zu finden. Bei den Glasmalereien aus der Werkstatt Osvaldo Brussas kommt er als Motiv h?ufiger vor.
