拍品描述: The Hall of 33 Bays in Fukagawa (Fukagawa - Sanjusangendo深川三十三間堂). Original color woodblock print from the series Meisho Edo hyakkei (“100 Famous Views of Edo“), published 1857, 8th month. Signed: Hiroshige ga. Publisher: Uoya Eikichi. Censor seal: Aratame and seal date. The view of the long-stretched Sanjusangendo appears quite simple on the first glance; if one however knows the purpose of the building, then the impression changes rapidly. The hall served as a shooting range for bowmen and Hiroshige knew with great skill how to convey the incredible length of of the roofed shooting stand and speed of zinging arrows to the observer.
