拍品描述: Ink on paper. Japan, Edo Period, 18th / 19th cent. Characters written large and deep-black are effective in the confident execution, as well as in the script dynamic in Sosho. Alongside this expressively dominant vertical area are ten blocks with smaller script characters in respectively three vertical rows. Left below is a red seal shaped as archaic vessel, the inscription reads SEI-GAN 清巖, who was an abbot in a famous temple in Daitokuji in Kyoto and supposedly lived until 1661. This calligraphy could be from a successor resp. student who worked in the manner of the old, eminent master, as indicated by the signature over the seal, however not very legible, SO ... fude.
