Glazed Oribe ceramic. Japan, approx. Meiji to after
An especially attractive, large teapot in spherical form with two slightly irregular, curved grommet handles; the slanted, tall spout is somewhat ribbed. Accentuated flowing pattern defined the deep green glaze, the black-brown painting on the cream-colored glaze with craquelé is more spontaneously executed with grid design or blossoms. Slightly arched lid with a shishi on uppermost area.
