奥地利
2016年11月19日 开拍 / 2016年11月19日 截止委托
拍品描述
Fire-gilded Bronze. Nepal, approx. 15th until 16th cent. Padmapani is a very old manifestation of the popular Avalokiteshvara, his name meaning the "lotus bearer", as also this depiction shows. He stands on the front side on a round lotus base, the right hand presents the "wish fulfilling" gesture varadamudra, the other holding the stem of a lotus, the blossom over his shoulder. The big, crowned head displays well formed, introverted features. The sumptuous nimbus is lavishly crafted with generous openwork, showing two further bodhisattvas, mythical animals and uppermost a garuda with heavenly creatures. The nimbus border is flaming. Newly mounted on a tiered brass pedestal. Condition according to age. HEIGHT 21,5 CM From a German collection
