拍品描述: Bronze and silver. China, Qing Dynasty, ca. 18th century Tripod vessel in the shape of the archaic Li with large handles on the side and three legs. Dark brown patina colour and inlaid silver wave decoration; on the right are amusing, winding dragons, clouds, Lingzhi (immortality mushroom). The characters Tianxia Taiping 天下太平can be found on one of the feet. On each of the elephant heads is an extravagant stylisation of the character Shou 壽 for “longevity”. On the base of the vessel is the signature Shisou 石叟 in archaic writing style. HEIGHT 16 CM, WIDTH 29,4 CM From an old collection in Berlin, afterwards collection Sohel Ch., New-Delhi - Vienna 銀嵌青銅古式香爐. 中國, 清代, 約 18世紀, 石叟款. 高 16 厘米, 長 29.4 厘米. A noteworthy share of the antiques offered here – around 130 lots – originate from the Collection Sohel Ch., a successful business man from Delhi who spent many years in Vienna. The part of his collection, which we here offer, was mainly acquired in the art trade of Vienna. The chief reason for his collecting activity, which he perpetuated with considerable specialized knowledge, sense for quality and great committment, was to establish a private Asian museum in his native city of New Delhi.
