拍品描述: Bronze, partly with paint-coating. China, approx. 17th cent. This very fine and well-crafted depiction is named Songzi niangniang 送子娘娘, whereby the latter means emperess as well as goddess, and Songzi ?having children“. She is identical to the popular ?mother goddess“ Guanyin, a Chinese version of the Boddisattva Avalokiteshvara. In this depiction, she is sitting in ?casual pose“ on a markedly rendered lotus throne and holding a boy with one hand. Guanyin is wearing jewlery chains and a Juwei attatched to her chignon with hairpins, and her typical headscarf above. The base on the back are two large openings, the boy is missing one hand, otherwise, expressive and complete condition with patina and signs of age. Colour coating on the lotus base. HEIGHT 30,3 CM From a German private collection, afterwards collection Sohel Ch., New-Delhi - Vienna 繪青銅送子觀音菩薩坐像。中國，約17世紀。高30.3厘米。 A noteworthy share of the antiques offered here – around 130 lots – originate from the Collection Sohel Ch., a successful business man from Delhi who spent many years in Vienna. The part of his collection, which we here offer, was mainly acquired in the art trade of Vienna. The chief reason for his collecting activity, which he perpetuated with considerable specialized knowledge, sense for quality and great committment, was to establish a private Asian museum in his native city of New Delhi.
