Glazed ceramic (Proto-porcelain). China, Song/Yuan, 12th – 13th cent.
An enchanting little water dropper with corresponding openings, one in the mouth of the animal. The ox has only one horn, the body is effective with big black spots. A boy crouches on the ox and is naked. The light blueish Qingbai glaze is with fein craquelé. Altogether a very rare, little, glazed early ceramic. Smaller restorated areas, overall in good condition.
