óc Eo Culture, Mekong Delta, 3rd – 7th century. Cast in solid gold, symmetrically shaped with round cross-sections and opposing flat ends in a tapering oval shape, known as the ‘open oval’. The larger earring is open while the ends of the smaller piece are joined together.
Condition: Worn condition with noticeable oxidation. Provenance: A private owner, acquired from the collection of Dr. Istvan Zelnik several years ago.
