Modelled sanding on rectangular stepped bases, each with an opposing front paw on a ball, tails curled up and over their backs, tongues prominent among their broad manes. Unmarked. One with what is possibly an old accession number typewritten on cello-tape, now long gone, but the residual number 779B is present to the underside of the base. Bennington, Vermont. Circa 1875. 10" H. x 12 3/4" W. x 5 3/4" D., the taller. The smaller 9 7/8" H. x 13" W. x 5 3/4" D. Very good condition. No chips or crack observed. The treacle glaze is typically splotchy toward the bases, with uneven coverage of the surface, as manufactured.
