拍品描述: green stone adze inscribed on paper label 'Found on the Isle of Eigg on road crossing the island August 1869', 8cm x 5.5cm, a chip carved grey stone adze inscribed on paper label 'Aberdeenshire', 19.5cm x 7.5cm, a polished dark grey stone adze inscribed on paper label 'Aberdeenshire', 12cm x 7cm, an oval shaped hand tool inscribed on paper label 'Hammer..', 10cm x 8cm, a circular stone bi disk/ pendant inscribed on paper label 'N.Scotland', 4cm diameter, and a piece of pale grey flint inscribed on paper label 'Paleolithic Mons', 14cm x 8cm, (6). Provenance: James Ewing Somerville (1843-1923) who had a second home in Menton, South of France and would visit Ventimiglia in Northern Italy to attend "Roman sales" in the period circa 1880-1900.
