Mounted with jewel-like serpentine dragon-form handles, these intricately-cut glass ewers are outstanding examples of the glassware produced by the Imperial Glass Factory in St. Petersburg. Unrivalled throughout Europe during the Empire period, pieces in 'Russian stone' were famed for the clarity of their glass, mirror-like polish and skilful faceting.
