A hongmu 'ladies' large cabinet together with associated stand
Late 19th/early 20th centuryThe rectangular top with inset 'floating' panel, over two doors, each carved in deep relief with a female immortal upon clouds, one accompanied by a phoenix, (fenghuang), the other with a peacock within ornate carved borders of dragons and bats, side panels with engraved designs of bamboo, engraved paktong hinges and lock plates, 69.5cm high, 120cm wide, 50.5cm deep; together with an associated wood stand with stepped aprons relief-carved with precious objects on rectangular-section supports ending in cloud carved feet. 52cm high, 114.5cm wide, 56cm deep.
