Attributed to Seiyodo Tomiharu (1733-1810), Iwami Province, 19th centuryThe netsuke in the form of Hotei's sack, opening up to reveal the god neck-wrestling with a pair of karako (Chinese boys), the topknots of the karako inlaid in ebony; signed Seiyodo . . . seki saku (made by Seiyodo . . . seki). 3cm (1 1/8in).
