By Seiyodo Tomiharu (1733-1810), Iwami Province, 1796-7Facing ahead, its head protruding, its legs drawn in for compactness, the eyes inlaid in horn and the central section of the carapace forming the himotoshi; signed Seki-shu Enokawa Seiyodo Tomiharu kyonen rokujugosai shite chokoku (carved at the age of sixty-five by the Eno River in Iwami Province by Seiyodo Tomiharu). 4.9cm (1 7/8in).
