Meiji (1868-1912) or Taisho (1912-1926) era, late 19th/early 20th centuryLacquered in gold takamaki-e and inlaid in Shibayama style with pheasants, pigeons, flying small birds and insects flying past, some birds perched on flowering trees with chrysanthemums below, unsigned; with a lacquered wood stand.
