Small Blue and White Jar, Korea, 19th century, globular form with short slanted neck, decorated with two peony sprays around the body, an auspicious cloud band around the shoulder, two double rings around the neck, and a ring around the foot, ht. 4 3/4 in. Provenance: Acquired in Korea during the early 1960s by the late Mrs. Poul Stengaard Hansen. Hansen worked from 1963 to 1965 as the Chief of Mission at the National Medical Center in Korea; inherited by the present owner. Estimate $400-600 slightly crooked, overall surface scratches.
