Bronze. Old Khmer Empire, poss. 13th cent.
Mostly spherical corpus, however divided by two strongly protruding, disc-like ridges. The lowest, also major part of the bell carries the sound outlet, which divides both sides resp. in a leaf-like designed area. The upper bell segment, also spherical, carries a lotus leaf crown around the grommet attachment. Almost blackish patina. A supplemented part, whereby the grommet does not exist. Possibly, the piece was used for elephants.
