Lacquer technique, horn. Japan, 19th to early 20th cent.
This attractive four-leveled inro is entirely crafted with ornament in relief-like red lacquer mass; patterns are floral partly with big chrysanthemum blossoms.
Two ojime are featured: The larger cord fastener is of clear glass, the very smallest poss. of horn. The netsuke is presumably in one piece of a horn antler; cut flat on on one side, on the other diagonal. With a lateral cord opening, otherwise completely smooth.
HEIGHT INRO 9,4 CM, NETSUKE 4,2 CM
