拍品描述: White marble. China, presumably Northern Wei dynasty (385 – 535) A stepped, round and elegant lotus pedestal. A bodhisattva standing bare-footed on top, in a heavily creased robe. He is wearing a crown with ribbons falling down to the shoulders and metal gear on the chest. A lotus bud in the elevated hand and a disc in the lower. These attributes are an indication of the bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara (Guanyin in China). Remnants of red paint (primer) as well as earth encrustations.
