拍品描述: Okimono, ivory. Okimono, HEIGHT 10,8 CM A rare motif, very nicely crafted by an artist from the Tomochika in Edo. The story is set in the 12th century, at the time of Kaiser Kanoe’s youth. A beast settled on the palace roof, rumbling around at night. Yorimasa, who was the best archer at the time, simply shot it down and the appointed samurai Hayata Tadazumi executed it with his sword. The masterfully crafted Okimono is shown carrying the strange beast named Nue on his shoulders. It has the head of an ape, the paws and fur pattern of a tiger, and a snake as its tail. A very lively rendition of the snake’s head! The Nue is bound but still alive, while Tadazumi – armed with two swords – has a determined frown on his face. Excellently detailed armour, which can be consider very authentic. On the backside of one of his legs, within an oval reserve, is the signature TADA-CHIKA 忠親. 19th century From a German private collection. Ein seltenes Motiv und sehr gut gearbeitet von einem Künstler aus dem Kreis um Tomochika in Edo. Die Geschichte spielt im 12. Jh. zur Zeit der jugendlichen Kaisers Konoe. Auf dem Dach des Palastes hatte sich ein Untier niedergelassen, das n?chtens rumorte. Der damals beste Bogenschütze Yorimasa scho? es einfach herab und der hinzugeeilte Samurai Hayata Tadazumi t?tete es mit seinem Schwert. Das meisterlich gearbeitete Okimono zeigt uns das seltsame, Nue genannte Untier auf seinen Schultern. Es hat einen Affenkopf, Pranken und Fellzeichnung vom Tiger und einen Schlangenschweif. Der Kopf der Schlange bestens lebendig gestaltet! Das Nue ist gefesselt, hier lebt es aber noch, und Tadazumi - mit zwei Schwertern bewaffnet - macht ein entschlossen-grimmvolles Gesicht! Beste Detailarbeit in der Rüstung, die als sehr ?authentisch“ zu studieren ist. Auf einem der Beine rückseits innerhalb ovaler Reserve die Signatur TADA-CHIKA 忠親.
