拍品描述: Bronze with gilding and lacquer technique. Thailand, Ratanakosin, 19th cent. A striking and rare depiction of Gautama Buddha seated on a rock, his bare feet on a round lotus pedestal. Very lean figure, the clothing with relief in lacquer technique is richly decorated, overall very fine workmanship. One hand rests on the lap, the other offers the varada mudra, the wish-fulfilling gesture. Two animals in front of Buddha, a kneeling elephant with his trunk holding a vase shaped object with animal head design (?) towards Budda. The other animal is an ape holding an object with a long rod and a rag hanging on it towards the enlightened one. HEIGHT 26 CM, LENGTH 21,2 CM From a German private collection -
