Bronze. India, Bastar 19th - 20th cent.
This protective or guardian deity is here stylistically from another bronze kiln artist. Not a plodding horse, but a lively one with a moustached rider whose face expression comes close to an Indian field marshal. Alone the horse has rather a head like Don Quixote′s mule. The rider with bent sword and pudgy body – an original humorous depiction!
