拍品描述: This handsome oil painting of a young family in a farmyard with their cow and dog was painted circa 1870. The painting is unsigned, and may depict a specific family who commissioned the work. The architecture and clothing appear European, but the painting style relates to that of American rural artists of that period. The canvas has an overall pattern of fine craquelure, which is normal for its age. It has been gently cleaned and retouched, and is installed in a frame which combines the painting's original silver gilt liner with a new outer gold-metal leafed moulding.
