Indonesia. Heavily cast, the figure is seated in dhyanasana with bare feet, the left hand gracefully raised in karana mudra and the right resting upon the lap. The gilt figure draped in a diaphanous sanghati that covers the left shoulder and falls diagonally across the chest, leaving the right shoulder and arm exposed. His rounded face with a serene expression, characterized by heavy-lidded, downcast eyes beneath gently arched brows, a slender nose, and full lips forming a tranquil smile, all framed by long, pendulous earlobes.

He was also an avid collector of antiques for more than sixty years. His collection includes both archaic and contemporary art, and he edited two important books about Asian art, Goa Made - An Archaeological Discovery, about a large-scale archaeological project carried out with the Italian and Indonesian governments, and Majapahit, Masterpieces from a Forgotten Kingdom.
