This lot is from a single owner collection and is therefore offered without reserve

China, 1662-1722. The baluster jar rising from a spreading foot to a waisted neck, painted in inky shades of cobalt blue with four roundels each enclosing a four-clawed dragon amid fire in pursuit of a flaming pearl, alternating with scrolling clouds, all above a border of turbulent waves and scrolls. The neck lined with a geometrical border.

The recessed base with an underglaze-blue lingzhi fungus mark within a double circle.

Provenance: A noted English private collection. Bonhams London, 7 November 2013, lot 50, sold for GBP 7,500 or approx. EUR 14,500 (converted and adjusted for inflation at the time of writing). The Collection of Sam and Myrna Myers, Paris, France, acquired from the above.
Condition: Very good condition with minor wear, few shallow chips to the upper and lower rim, light scratches around the shoulders, and firing irregularities including minor pitting and dark spots. The cover lost.

Weight: 2.8 kg
Dimensions: Height 22.5 cm
