Depicted within these thangkas are the following scenes:

1.
Buddha standing in front of a stupa, where he removes his royal crown to cut off his hair, symbolizing his decision to become an ascetic and renounce worldly pleasures.

2. Buddha seated in dhyanasana with a bhumisparsha mudra being tempted by the evil Mara, whose demonic powers attempt to dissuade him from his path to enlightenment. Mara's attacks are represented by clouds of smoke and visions of flames, yet they are transformed into flowers.

3. Finely painted with the central Buddha seated in dhyanasana on a lotus throne, surrounded by a blue ray aureole. His right hand is lowered in bhumisparsha mudra, symbolizing the moment of enlightenment. He is surrounded by deities, monks, and the Indian gods Brahma and Vishnu, who are shown paying homage to Buddha.

4. The birth of Buddha by Queen Maya, standing beside a sal tree. Above this, the dream of the white elephant is portrayed, and at the bottom, the young Buddha takes his first seven steps.

5. The descent of Buddha from Tushita Heaven, as he arrives on Earth to fulfill the prediction that the coming Buddha Maitreya will appear to proclaim the teachings. The Buddha is depicted in a visionary cloud, accompanied by deities, and descending on a great ladder to heaven.

6. The passing away of Buddha and his entry into nirvana. He is lying as monks and gods mourn his departure from the world.

7. The young Buddha living as a king's son. He leaves the royal court on his horse Kanthaka to embark on his journey toward spiritual awakening.
