Description

A LONGQUAN CELADON TRIPOD CENSER, YUAN TO MING DYNASTY

China, 13th-15th century. Well potted, the deep flaring sides rising from a rounded foot with a recessed base over three short cabriole legs, which remain slightly raised. The vessel covered in a finely crackled celadon glaze, the lower section unglazed, revealing the earthen tones and rough texture of the ceramic body, partially burnt to orange in the firing.

Provenance: From a private collection in the United Kingdom.
Condition: Good condition with wear and firing irregularities, small chips, scratches, and losses to the pinched legs.
