A GROUP OF FIVE MIXED-METAL ORNAMENTSJapan, late Edo period (1615-1868) to early Meiji period (1868-1912)The set comprising: two boldly carved shibuichi weights of namazu with sinuous tails and long whiskers, inscribed on the base kyo. Two obidome, one of them made of shibuichi inlaid in gold and silver hirazogan and takazogan and superbly worked in kebori and takabori depicting an openworked hagoromo, the magical feather-mantle of a tennin, adorned with aster flowers, a chrysanthemum and scrolling tendrils, marked on the base junkin bari [pure gold plated]. The other made of suaka, inlaid in gold and silver hirazogan and worked in kebori and takabori as maple leaves and tendrils, signed on the base MITSUNAGA saku [made by Mitsunaga]; a shibuichi ojime of globular form with golden edges representing two flying cranes inlaid in silver with their legs in gold and worked in kebori and takabori.LENGTH 1.9 - 6.7 cmCondition: Very good condition with minor wear.
